The Dawning Of the Second Age Part 2 The Keys To The Melodic Kindom

The past two months have been amazing. Playing a TINY hometown show then heading out to Europe to play one of our favorite festivals AND then unleashing the LostAlone beast upon America for the first time! I’m pretty sure that right now I’m so high on life I could cut the cost of flights and glide out to the US for our next trip!! So we are so close to actually putting these songs down for the new album and then touring the world FOREVER but until then I hope you guys enjoy our little film…

The Unleashing

Playing to such a small tightly packed crowd last Saturday ranks as one of my favorite experiences in my vast catalogue of thought. Its been so long since I felt so much part of the audience – having NO stage helped!. What a welcome for Alan and what a show he played – vocally the band is now exactly where I have always wanted to be and we will strive to improve even more. Going into making the album now I feel beyond confident that we will create a definitive record – a document of the age in which we are living, melodies that will defy time and a LOT of fun!

Next Stop BOCHUM TOTAL FESTIVAL

Give me a machine gun and a license to kill

So I wanted to write this while it was fresh in my mind. I often get the bus over to my parents and always avoid the school kids heading off for their day of education, however today I mistimed my journey. Now in the past I think I would have felt intimidated by the rabble but right now I’m in an extremely happy musical state. So I took my seat for the 7 minute journey and…
First the shouts of “greb greb” then the bus tickets landing in my hair – that’s all fine – As you and I know, When you look as good as we all do the small minds of the world have to react in the only way the know how – they regress a few million years and communicate with grunts and throw things. It made me wonder about a program I watched the other night about the oldest complete fossil that had been discovered and was possibly the missing link – Did this little lemur know what he was doing by having opposable thumbs? I suppose I can’t blame a 47 million year old fossil for some 14-year-old thugs.
I think the thing that really set this barrage apart from the usual hate was when we passed an ambulance and one of the children said and I quote “ oh good another old person dead”  “ they should have an island where when they get to 86 they all go and die”
Disgusted is not even the start of how I felt hearing this. My granddad is 86 and took part in WW2 so that little plankton like this can sit on a bus and come out with such drivel! Give me a machine gun and a license to kill!!!!!!!!!!!

Some school girls sat around me happily listening to there Ipods – I think the ipod is a blessing for these kids who don’t want to be subjected to these torrents of abuse everyday, instead they can drift off into the world of music which we love. Unfortunately I didn’t have my ipod defensive blockhead in place today.

I wonder if they had a clue what I was thinking? I wonder if they know what it is I do?  I’m sure it would be irrelevant – It might be nice to think that they think “hey that guy went to our school and look now he travels around the world unleashing rock upon audiences and has a great life – I doubt this very much though!

I recently did an interview with a nice man for the schools B line magazine, talking about the band giving advice – My advice now would be unprintable!

Caging the mind of the eternal expressionist

So where we live is SO CLOSE to the download festival happening right now! One of my proudest moments has been playing this particular festival on the same day as IRON MAIDEN!
Although caging this need to unleash rock upon a race track is hard, I feel safe in the knowledge that with this new record we will be playing Download along with ALL the other festivals next time round along with stages worldwide! Imagine knowing this and having to play a waiting game – its an explosive feeling – I cant wait for you guys to hear the ALBUM!!!

The journey continues…

Hey guys.
The LostAlone journey continues breathing, music is the air that I breathe and my roxygen supply is currently plentiful and knows no bounds.
So later this month I will  have some real exciting news to share with you all, however firstly I must share some other news with you.

Like I said in previous blogs making this record has pushed us to the limits of endurance, seen us travel and work in Hollywood, Montreux , Berlin, Vienna and Derby and I have loved every minute of it, I personally thrive on the pressure and every day I feel excited about this monster we are creating.
Unfortunately Tom has not been feeling the same way as Mark and me and so we have mutually agreed that he will no longer be in the band, his interest is no longer in LostAlone and for the past few months he has been a passenger rather than an integral part.

Without belittling Toms role in the band and your guys affection for him this really is the best thing that could have happened and the ONLY way in which the band could have continued. Mark and myself wish Tom the best in his future. We already have a new bass player ALAN WILLIAMSON  –  the album is still on schedule and we will be touring the EVERYWHERE in the world SOON!!

To introduce Alan we will play this TINY!!! SHOW in our hometown DERBY – here are all the details below!

Words, Planes, Thunderstorms and melody

So this past week I have found myself in London twice, on a plane twice in a day – once at the mercy of a very angry thunderstorm!! and always surrounded in the knowladge that we are everyday coming closer to recording and TOURING the WORLD!! I’m EXCITED!

Here is the podcast of the interview we did for “bring your parents records

http://www.bringyourparentsrecords.com/

A Harvest for the world

Hey guys I guess you are maybe wondering what on earth we are doing! Well I wonder sometimes but FEAR NOT!!  I made the decision that this album has to be the greatest rock record ever made and we should not have to worry about schedules and commit to a recording date while my direct link to melody is still harvesting more riches. Believe me the idea of getting out on tour right now is driving us three crazy – we live for the shows and this absence is real difficult on us but I hope you understand that we have to make the record of our lives and with NO COMPROMISE!

Ok so I’m sitting here listening through the songs we have narrowed down from well over 100 and I thought lets share the titles with the world  (some of which are still working titles) Also take into account I’m still writing!
