Post Sonisphere reflections
Playing festivals is always a mixture of emotions, for me its mainly a cocktail of fear and anxiety that nobody will show up to see you. We’ve been so lucky that this hasn’t happened though! The tent for Sonisphere was packed out and we had a brilliant time. Thanks to everyone who came and checked us out. Knebworth is such a beautiful place and I made sure to take it all in over the weekend.
We’ve a few more great festivals coming up as well as three UK headline shows in Manchester, Rugby and Birmingham get tickets here 10% off of merch with your ticket if you purchase through our shop 🙂
The ones that got away
Musical friends! Two songs that slipped out into the world in various stealth forms between I’m A UFO In This City and Shapes Of Screams albums are available now to one and all for FREE right here
Fall On Your Sword was written just after we recorded the UFO album and narrowly missed inclusion by a few weeks. Although we loved it, continue to do so, by the time we came to SOS it felt like part of a different time and with so many new songs to choose from it was sidelined again. I think it shows the transition of the band, the first time I really implemented extreme vocal harmonies.
Everybody Dies But The Worlds Still Turning is one of my favourite songs I’ve written, it feels like it’s from another part of my brain which I don’t often have full access to. It’s also my favourite guitar solo I’ve ever done. The adrenaline rush when the drums kick is enormous for me 🙂
I know these songs are kind of out and about but thought it would be nice to make sure everyone has easy access to them.
Hope you enjoy the ones that (almost) got away
Football United The World is here!

Kerrang! magazine Green Day cover
To mark 10 years since Green Day released American Idiot next weeks issue of Kerrang magazine (June 11th) comes with a free CD. Its a whole bunch of bands covering all the tracks from the record and we’ve done one!
We recorded it directly after finishing the recent headline tour, and it sounds cool – Green Day with a few additional custom LostAlone harmonies 🙂
Such good fun doing covers, loved doing Metallica “Nothing Else Matters” and Meat Loaf “Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad” so this is a nice addition
Football United The World
Myself and Dan Weller (producer of Shapes Of Screams) have written a song for the world cup entitled Football United The World. It’ll be available on iTunes soon and we’re donating every single penny to charity.
So many ace bands have sang on the track and its sounding huge!
Really excited for it to go to radio next week, hope you’ll enjoy it and get involved in helping those less fortunate than us.
Digesting Shapes of Screams.
So you guys have had a few weeks to digest Shapes of Screams now, how’re you enjoying it?
When you keep something so secretive for a year and then suddenly its out for all ears to consume, well its a strange feeling! I have loved reading your thoughts on the songs and the album as a whole. It felt very special during the UK tour to have the lyrics so forcefully sang back at us, especially after only a few days of hearing them.
I’m already thinking about how to go forward after SOS (demoed a few tracks) and looking forward to many tours and festivals in 2014
If you comment below this post, I’ll always make sure to check back and reply 🙂

Shapes of Screams is out now!
Hey everyone, time for a long overdue blog update! Apologies for my lack of writing, I’ve been obsessively consumed by the album release. Did you all get the record yet? I hope its lived up to your high expectations.
So lets get down to it. Here I am traveling north for the last four shows of what has been our favourite ever headline tour, the intensity between ourselves and the audience has been electric and we’re very excited t get back around the UK again!
The reviews for Shapes Of Screams have been brilliant and we’re very proud, the Kerrang! review in particular was really special – those 5K’s are not awarded lightly!
If you think it deserves it then please vote for Shapes Of Screams as “Best Album” in the Kerrang awards right here and while you’re over at Kerrang you can listen to the iTunes bonus song “Method To Our Madness here
We’ll be announcing more shows soon (Europe, are you ready?) and we are playing loads of cool festivals over the summer, did you see we were just announced on Sonisphere? Really excited for it!
